One Week

One week ago today, Joe was on his way to Germany.  In some ways, the time has flown by...but in other ways, this has been a really slow week.

I am grateful for school starting to keep us busy and make our weeks full.  We also have a few visitors coming to see us this month so it will be nice to have some adult conversation each evening.

Emerson did not have an Open House at her school yet, but this was her very first project that she drew in school.  I thought Joe would get a kick out of it...although she must be remembering living in Washington, as we don't have too many puddles to jump in around here! :-)

In other news...an exclamation from the car the other morning as we were driving to school:

"Look Mommy - that house is so lucky!  They are having a carnival!"

I had to drive back around to show them that no, for sure, that house was not having a carnival! :-)

We can't wait to celebrate when you are here next week!  Can't wait to see you!  Our social director (can you guess who?) already has lots of activities lined up for you!
